Paula Ray is a writer, musician, and artist from Wilmington, NC. Her poetry has appeared in Word Riot, decomP, Blue Fifth Review, among other literary zines. She’s had poems nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. Her short stories are written in a wide range of genres including horror, science fiction, speculative fiction, slipstream, and literary fiction and have appeared in Wigleaf, Up the Staircase, Dead Mule Society of Southern Literature, among other literary zines. After teaching band, chorus, and general music in the public school system for many years, she currently teaches private piano lessons. Paula has toured with a Glen Miller style 17-piece big band where she played tenor sax and she’s performed clarinet with several theater companies in the South East. She creates digital art that has been used for numerous book covers and is currently creating original drawings inspired by some of her poems that will one day be compiled into a collection.
